The Ending of Depression.

You can end your depression here and now. It is not up to your friends, it is not up to people treating you differently. It is not about people liking you more. It is entirely about you here and now.

I was once depressed to the point to have the repeated thought “I want to die.”

If you are reading this and you are depressed then you are on the verge of discovery. You are on the verge of discovering who you are.

It is my belief through experience, that we become the most depressed when we want something to be a certain way and it isn’t that certain way.

The truth is that there is no certain way for things to be. A good book on this is called “Comfortable with Uncertainty” by Pema Chodron. That book will lead you, dear reader, in a positive direction on how to dismantle our obsession with certainty.

When we solidify a concept into an absolute , which can in no way be absolute, and then act as if our creation is the truth, and even believe it to be the truth we will suffer. Depending upon how solid our concept is in the face of Truth, seems to determine the level of suffering.

What we need to do is to slowly over time (the most logical way to work) is to realease that bond with the false solidity.

Examples:
He “should” love me the way I want
We “should” always be together
I “should” get things done

Any time you issue yourself or someone else a “should” statement, you have trouble on your hands. All “should” statements are, in fact, false.

Each time you say this should ask yourself “Why should they?”. As a very wise Tibetan once said “There is no certain way for things to be.”

Release yourself, you are wonderful.
